The Kunlun Mountains in the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) are among the coldest in all of China. The climate conditions are extremely harsh, with an altitude of more than 4,000 meters, low air pressure, severe hypoxia, and are also affected by hurricanes and cold waves. In some parts of the Kunlun Mountains, the average temperature in January can even drop below -40°C, making it one of the coldest regions in China.
The Ili River valley in the Xinjiang region is also one of the coldest in China. Located on the northern side of the Tianshan Mountains, the Ili River Valley is one of Xinjiang's major grain and fruit production bases. However, due to its special geographical location, the temperature here often drops below -30°C, making it one of the colder regions in northern China.
In addition to the above two regions, other parts of China also have extremely low temperature climatic conditions. For example, in some areas of Northeast China and Inner Mongolia, winter temperatures usually drop below -30°C, making it one of the representatives of cold in northern China.
